Support Theatre Arts

Why Your Donation Matters

During the course of a year the theatre program does a lot of activities to connect the students with the larger theatre community in town and around the country.

In town, students help with after school backpack programs, and children through local theatre groups (Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, and The RiverPark Center). In the next few years we are working on solidifying this work with the community.

To help with their connection to the community and to give them the hands on time to work on their art, we produce at least two shows a year. Our goal is to produce a strait play in the fall, and a musical every spring.

For students to meet artists and actors outside of the area, we are going to the South Eastern Theatre Conference in the spring. Here, students will meet artists and educators from around the country, and will be able to collaborate with other students. With a variety of workshops and festivals, these three days can really expand a student’s vision of theatre.

How can you help?

Buy a Ticket!

Buying a ticket is the most basic form of giving to the program! If you have already seen one of our shows – Thank you! Off each ticket we have been able to cover some basic show costs, and that’s a huge help!

Donate to the program.

With a donation to the program you are helping sponsor a student’s trip to the theatre conference, pay for tickets for them to see a professional show, and sponsor speakers. Many of our students attend KWC on scholarships, and can use the extra support.

Sponsor a show.

To sponsor a show you help pay for royalties, and rental fees. The size of the show, and the venue change how much a sponsorship is, but here are some perks!

  • Publicity! We mention your name on the program, on the poster, on any advertising and at the start of every show! You become that amazing company who helped us, and we will have our patrons visit you!
  • Free Tickets. There are free tickets to the group that sponsors us.
  • Warm Feelings. It’s always nice to help other people. You are helping the college give the students the best education they can get.

Please contact Nate Gross at nate.gross@kwc.edu if you are interested in sponsoring a show.

Without gifts or donations from you, we wouldn’t be able to do any of this. So thank you for being with us! Whether you are sponsoring a show, donating to the program, or paying for a ticket, you are allowing us to continue creating.
