Kavanaugh United Methodist Scholarship

In order to be considered the Kavanaugh Methodist Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

Must be an active member (baptized, confirmed) of the United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to enrolling at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Must submit a letter of recommendation from your United Methodist Pastor. Letter must include date of membership (confirmation) and current involvement in the church. Your letter of recommendation from your pastor should be sent to:

All Scholarship recipients must devote 30 hours per semester to one or more activities in Campus Ministries in order to retain the scholarship each year. Please review the descriptions below and select one or more:*
- Monday Night Prayer: (Mondays at 9:00 p.m. in Tapscott Chapel): Monday Night Prayer is a student-led movement to create an intentional space for prayer, meditation, music and other creative means to seek the Lord.
- Chapel: Chapel is a weekly worship experience open to the campus community and a time for teaching, singing and communion.
- HD3D: HD3D is discipleship in high-definition. We create space for honest dialogue on topics of relevance to students, and we look at how the accent scriptures and words of Jesus still speak to our struggles today.
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): FCA works with our sports teams on a weekly basis, taking place at team practices and game day chapels. Teams have also held team Bible Studies and a "Sunday Night Football Game" Bible Study (which takes place at half-time of the Sunday Night NFL Football Game during the NFL season).
