James Graham Brown Endowment Challenge

The James Graham Brown Foundation has issued an exciting challenge grant for endowment growth to Kentucky Wesleyan College through December 1, 2008. The Brown Foundation will match $1 for every $2 raised for the College endowment, up to a maximum of $1,000,000. The Brown match will go to the Brown Endowment Fund. Meeting this challenge is an excellent opportunity to dramatically increase the permanent endowment at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

We ask your help in meeting the Brown Challenge. The following are endowed gifts that will meet the Brown Challenge criteria:

  • Make a gift to the endowment fund through The Anniversary Campaign - Celebrating 150 Years
  • Make a gift to an existing endowed fund, including the Brown Scholarship Fund, or other academic, athletic and talent endowments at the College
  • Establish a new endowed fund in memory of or in honor of a family member or friend. There is a $10,000 minimum to establish a new endowed scholarship.

Since 1975 the James Graham Brown Foundation has been an important and generous partner of Kentucky Wesleyan College. The James Graham Brown Scholarship Fund has the largest endowment of any scholarship program at Kentucky Wesleyan and supports the Brown Scholar Program.

Interim President Mike Fagan is excited about the challenge grant for endowment growth. "The James Graham Brown Foundation is a long-time friend of Kentucky Wesleyan and has significantly supported some of our new facilities, as well as the Brown Scholarship Program. Many of our outstanding alumni benefited from the Brown Scholars Program while they were students and have gone on to rewarding careers that enhance their communities, the state of Kentucky and the world around us."
