Owensboro, Ky. (April 22, 2013) - The Louisville Piano Quintet, dedicated to performing large chamber music works with piano and strings, will make its Owensboro debut in an all-Dvorak program at Kentucky Wesleyan College on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in Tapscott Chapel.
Founded in 2011 at the University of Louisville, the quintet performed an all-Brahms program for its inaugural concert on the acclaimed musicEx series to an enthusiastic standing ovation. Since that time, the group has played in several venues throughout the state of Kentucky.
The members of the group are J. Patrick Rafferty and Brittany MacWilliams, violins; Erin Rafferty, viola; Paul York, cello; and Dror Biran, piano. All have extensive chamber music backgrounds, with performances throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, South America and Europe.
The program for this concert will consist of Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Quartet Op. 87, No. 2 in E-flat Major and his Piano Quintet Op. 81a, No. 2 in A Major.
