Owensboro, Ky. (February 6, 2013) – Kentucky Wesleyan College will host a lecture and discussion, “North Korea: Fact, Fiction and Propaganda,” on Monday, February 11, at 7 p.m. in Tapscott Chapel in the Barnard Jones Administration Building. Dr. Timothy Rich, an assistant professor of political science at Western Kentucky University, will speak. The program is sponsored by the Owensboro Area World Affairs Council. Rich received his Ph.D. from Indiana University, specializing in East Asian politics. He participated as an observer in Taiwanese elections in 2006 and 2010. He has also conducted research in South Korea, where he interviewed specialists on North Korea and North Korean refugees. In addition to his research on electoral reform in East Asia, he has published North Korea’s English language news in Asian Affairs and Korea Observer. He teaches a course at WKU entitled “Politics of North Korea.” The event is free and open to the public.
