Miranda Christy ‘01
Miranda Christy ’01 is an attorney in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Religion with minors in Spanish and Music (Piano). She continued her education and the Divinity School at Vanderbilt University, attaining her Master of Theological Studies degree in 2003, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee in 2006.
While at the University of Tennessee, she was Managing Editor of the Tennessee Law Review, received the National Association of Women Lawyers Award and Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award and was President of the UT Law Women.
She joined Stites & Harbison, as a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Banking Service Group in 2006. Her practice focuses largely on banking, loans and financing while being experienced in real estate law, advising various clients on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and leasing.
She also counsels non-profit organizations and has experience in conservation easements and conservation finance—having completed a course of study in conservation finance at Yale University in 2007. Ms. Christy and a law partner were recognized by the Civil War Trust for their contribution of more than $1,000,000 in pro bono services in support of battlefield preservation.
Ms. Christy was selected as the recipient of the 2014 Nashville Emerging Leader Award in Environment & Sustainabilty, 2014 Nashville Business Journal Women of Influence Awards among many other accolades. She has been named a Rising Star by Mid-South Super Lawyers and is also a member of the Leadership Middle Tennessee Class of 2015, Leadership Franklin Class of 2013-14, and the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Class of 2013, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Education Committee Chair
She is involved with a number of organizations in the Nashville community. She is on the Board of Directors of Nashville Classical Charter Schools and a member of the Charter School Application Review Committee for Metro Nashville Public Schools. She is a member of the Davidson County Juvenile Court Foster Care Review Board.
Ms. Christy is co-chair of the Steering Committee of The Nature Conservancy’s (Tennessee) young professionals group, Generation Conservation. She has co-chaired the Ambassadors Circle Steering Committee, an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. She has been a Big Sister for five years.
