J. Phillip Roberts began to show the leadership, which has propelled him in his career and his community, while he was a student at KWC. He was a four year starter on the varsity soccer team; he actively participated in the Tops Soccer Program which pairs KWC soccer players with handicapped children for therapeutic interfacing of the soccer player and the child. Phillip was active in his fraternity, Sigma Nu, where he was Treasurer and Lt. Commander. Finally, he was presented the Stanley Reed Leadership Award on graduation day.
Following his graduation in 2005, Phillip earned his FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) series 7 certification and FINA series 66 certification and proceeded to become a financial advisor for Ameriprise Financial Services. After three years he was hired by Hilliard Lyons into a newly created position of Manager of New Consultant Development. Phillip, in addition to managing the financial consultant training program, created the Revenue Enhanced Program, providing one-on-one coaching, business consulting and practice management to the more tenured financial consultants. He now serves as Vice President – Manager of Financial Consultant Development for Merrill Lynch.
After spending 50-55 hours per week working for Hilliard Lyons, Phillip also spends 25-30 hours per month volunteering in civic activities. Currently, he is Past President, Board of Directors, of YPAL (Young Professionals Association of Louisville), after serving two years as President of the organization.
