Vice President of Advancement
Eddie Kenny was named Vice President of Advancement in May 2019 after serving in the interim role for eight months. Kenny joined Kentucky Wesleyan College as Senior Director of Alumni Relations in August of 2016, and was promoted to Executive Director of External Relations in June 2018. He provides leadership and strategic planning for Kentucky Wesleyan College in the areas of Development, and External (Alumni and Public) Relations. His priorities include building and strengthening relationships between all external constituents and the College, including alumni, donors, prospects, media and community partners. Kenny also serves as the primary point of contact for institutional PR needs, editor of Kentucky Wesleyan College Magazine and is the College’s official spokesperson. He serves as the primary point of contact and organizer for the Alumni Association Board of Directors and oversees programming for the school’s Alumni Association, including Homecoming, awards programs, events and chapter development.
Eddie came from Saint Leo University in Tampa, Fla, where he served as Director of Alumni and Parent Relations for six years. Prior to that, he spent eight years in athletics administration and media relations at Nova Southeastern University, Saint Leo, and Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School, respectively. He earned a bachelor of science degree in communications from Florida International University in 2003, and completed a master of science in education/sport management at Nova Southeastern in 2005. Eddie and his wife, Wendy, have three children – Katie (11), Joey (7), and Clare (3).
