Zachary Buskill

Biography:
Zach Buskill was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky.  His journey with music began at age 11 when he started learning the saxophone in 6th Grade Band.  Zach is a graduate of College View Middle School, Daviess County High School, and the University of Kentucky.  He has studied saxophone with Mike Clark, Dr. John Cipolla, Miles Osland, and Lisa Osland.  He is currently the Assistant Band Director at Hancock County Schools in Lewisport, KY where he teaches 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, Middle School Jazz Band, and High School Jazz Band.  He also assists with High School Concert Band and High School Marching Band.  Zach and his wife, Charlotte, reside in Owensboro, Kentucky.


Addisson Grimm

Biography:
Addisson Grimm is an avid performer and educator in the tri-state area. He currently serves as Professor of Trumpet at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY, Professor of Brass and Jazz at Vincennes University in Vincennes, IN, and works as an Educational Representative for H&H Music in Evansville, IN. In addition to the many students he teaches at the collegiate level, Addisson works as a private instructor for many local middle school and high school students. Addisson frequently subs for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.  He is also a member of the 2nd Street Big Band, which is a strain of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra. He performs with the Evansville Symphonic Band in Evansville, IN, River Brass based out of Newburgh, IN, and is a consistent freelancer for weddings, musicals, and many other venues.  Addisson graduated from Madisonville North Hopkins High School in 2008, received his Bachelor of Music degree from Murray State University in 2014, and received his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance degree from the University of Louisville in 2016. While studying at the collegiate level, Addisson was an active performer on the regional, state, and national stage. Some of these performances consisted of: featured ensemble (Murray State Wind Ensemble) at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., featured ensemble (Louisville Wind Symphony) at the WASBE conference in San Jose, California, competitive ensemble (Murray State Jazz Ensemble) at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in Chicago, IL, principal trumpet of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Orchestra at the Kentucky Music Educators Conference (KMEA) in Louisville, KY, and a semi-finalist at the National Trumpet Competition in Fairfax, VA.


Sean Howard

Biography:
Sean Eric Howard received his Bachelor of Music degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1991, winning the Music Department Award in 1990.  Mr. Howard has performed in numerous music festivals, such as the Shades of Blue Art Festival in Kentucky and in the Sierra Nevada Guitar Convention in Lake Tahoe.  He was a participant in the Guitar Foundation of America Convention of 2008 (San Francisco), 2009 (Ithaca, NY), and 2013 (Louisville).  He has performed in masterclasses with Jeffrey Van, Joseph Hagedorn, and others as well as having lessons with guitar luminaries Scott Tennant, Roberto Aussel, Elena Papandreou, and Victor Villadangos.  Mr. Howard was fortunate to be among the select few to participate in Maximo Diego Pujol’s weeklong Tango Workshop in Lake Tahoe in 2011 for the Sierra Nevada Guitar Festival.


Paula Humphreys

Education:

Biography:
Originally from Indiana,  Paula completed her high school education at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and attended Indiana University where she received a Bachelor of Music Education with honors and a Master of Music degree (Flute Performance) with highest honors.  While at IU, she was awarded the Bennard Opperman Memorial Scholarship for outstanding flute study and was the  Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Artists Woodwind winner.

After graduation, Mrs. Humphreys taught instrumental music in Indiana and Texas before settling in Owensboro, Kentucky and teaching for 18 years in the Owensboro Public Schools.  In 2007 she was selected as the Kentucky Music Education Association District II Teacher of the Year and  in 2013 she was honored to be awarded the KMEA Middle School Teacher of the Year at the district and state level.

As an active musician in the community,  Paula has served as director of the Owensboro Youth Symphony,  organist/choir director at the Zion United Church of Christ, staff member at Summer Institute for Young Musicians and FlootFire in Evansville, Indiana.  Currently, she enjoys playing flute for community events, playing chamber music with the Murphy Trio and the River City Winds, teaching flute at Kentucky Wesleyan  and performing as  a member of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.


Ed Kearns

Education:

Biography:
Ed is currently the Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

Ed attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN where he received a full music scholarship and a bachelor’s degree in music education with percussion emphasis under Professor David Steinquest.  Ed was section leader for 3 years in both the marching band drum line and concert wind ensemble.  He was also chosen as a marimba soloist for their concerto festival and performed in the percussion ensemble and orchestra.  In addition, he played drum set for several musical theater productions and was a percussion instructor for several high schools in the Clarksville area.

Ed has been teaching percussion for over 25 years with many successful music programs in the Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana region including:  Madisonville North Hopkins, Daviess County, Owensboro Senior, Webster County, Apollo, Mt. Vernon, South Spencer, and Heritage Hills high schools.

Ed continues to be in high demand for performing and teaching private lessons.  He also plays drum set for the Walnut Memorial Baptist Church praise band and the 2nd Street Big Band.  Ed enjoys spending free time with his wife of 17 years, Jennifer, his 15-year old daughter, Larissa, and his 18-month old daughter, Raelyn.


Stephanie Myers

Biography:
Stephanie owns her own music Studio in Evansville, IN from which she instructs students of all ages in Clarinet, Saxophone and Piano. She plays Clarinet in the Evansville Symphonic Band and has played with the Evansville Philharmonic. She also plays for several musicals around the tri-state area.


Mary Stuckemeyer

Biography:

Dr. Mary Stuckemeyer has been performing on bassoon since she was 11 years old. She completed her education with a B.M. from University of Kansas studying with Dr. Eric Stomberg and a M.M. and D.M.A. from Arizona State University studying with Dr. Albie Micklich. Upon completion of her D.M.A., Dr. Stuckemeyer released her first solo bassoon album Chocolates in 2013. She has been actively performing in large and chamber ensembles throughout her career. In addition to performing and teaching on bassoon, she was CFO of record label and publishing company Potenza Music (www.potenzamusic.com) and retail shops Just For Brass & Winds  (www.justforbrass.com and www.justforwinds.com) until 2017. She currently lives with her husband Pat, and two children Emma and Max in Evansville, IN while teaching at KWC and as private bassoon instructor with EVSC (Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation).
