VITA Tax Program

Wesleyan Fellow and 2018 VITA Coordinator Tara O’Shan displays the services provided from VITA.

Coming, Tax Season 2019

Through the Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning, Kentucky Wesleyan College has partnered with the Green River Asset Building Coalition (GRABC) to offer VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) income tax preparation services free of charge for low to moderate income filers. Offered Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Greenwell Library during tax season.

Through our partnership, we are training Wesleyan students and staff as VITA volunteers, either as certified greeters and screeners or as IRS-certified tax preparers. Our volunteers help our own students and staff, as well as members of the public to understand and file their income taxes. All volunteers undergo ethics training to ensure confidentiality.

The partnership is supported by a generous grant from the Hager Educational Foundation.
