In November, 2018, Bonner Leader students hosted Kentucky Wesleyan’s first annual Oxfam Hunger Banquet. Oxfam International encourages these events to illustrate how inequality affects food security throughout the world. Students, faculty, and staff who attended the banquet were randomly assigned upper class, middle-class, or lower class designations. Upper class participants were served a lavish pasta dish at a table with cloth napkins, middle class were served rice and beans while sitting at a chair with no table, and lower class were served rice only and sat on the floor.
The 2019 Hunger Banquet will occur on Wednesday, November 20. Learn more about the Oxfam International Hunger Banquet.
