Welcome to the Kentucky Wesleyan College family! Upon completion, this form will be sent to the Student Success Center and your first-year Academic Advisor. The information provided will help your adviser to know a little about you before meeting at a Future Panther Day, or virtually to complete your class registration.
Who will be my first-year Academic Advisor?
At Kentucky Wesleyan, your first-year Academic Advisor will also be your KW 101 – Freshman Seminar professor. KW 101 is a class that welcomes students in the Wesleyan family by introducing students to academic expectations of the College, ways to engage in college life outside the classroom, available resources to assist in achieving your degree, opportunities for career exploration, and the importance of a liberal arts education in an ever-changing global environment.
How does Academic Advising work?
When you meet your First-year Academic Advisor (either at a Future Panther Day or via a virtual meeting or email), you will spend a few minutes getting to know each other and then discussing your fall courses.
Most first-time freshmen take the following:
- ENGL 100 Writing Workshop I
- KW 101 Freshman Seminar
- 2-3 General Education classes
You can look at all the General Education courses on page 11 of our Academic Bulletin.
You will discuss which classes you would like to take with your First Year Academic Advisor at Future Panther Day or by virtual meeting. Once your classes are chosen, your advisor will submit it to the Registrar’s office to finalize registration.
