‘Coaches’ Wives’ Documentary to Screen at Kentucky Wesleyan College

Owensboro, Ky. (Oct. 15, 2015) – Kentucky Wesleyan College will host a public screening of  “Coaches’ Wives,” a new documentary film about the unsung heroes of sports, the wives of coaches, as part of Homecoming festivities on Friday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. in Rogers Hall at the Winchester Center.

A brief Q&A with the filmmakers will follow the screenings.

Meo Stansbury (Texas A&M), Jeanie Buss (Los Angeles Lakers), Kathy Auriemma (University of Connecticut) and Mindy Rice (UNLV) headline the feature-length film.

The film chronicles both the joys and struggles of being married to a coach. Producer/Director Jonathan Moore (son of a coach’s wife) exposes coaches’ wives as the most unsung heroes in modern sports. Often charged with managing the household and raising children while her husband spends long hours away, the coach’s wife is the backbone of the family and team. With her family always in the public eye, she is responsible for bringing normalcy to an often chaotic and confusing lifestyle.

Jonathan Moore, is a 1992 graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, where he was a mass communication major and a member of the basketball team. “It’s an honor to bring the film to both my alma mater, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and my hometown of Campbellsville,” said Moore. “We look forward to showing it to friends and family, and we hope everyone will enjoy learning about these amazing women.”

In addition to the above-mentioned names, the film also includes numerous coaches’ wives at the middle school, high school and small college level.

If any members of the press would like to view the full film prior to the screening, a password-protected link or DVD can be provided. The film will be released for online purchase in January.
