Kentucky Wesleyan College Band and Diane Earle to present a free concert Saturday

The Kentucky Wesleyan College Band and Diane Earle, professor of music, will present a free concert at 3 p.m. Saturday at the RiverPark Center. The Kentucky Wesleyan College Band is led by Director Steven A. Pederson and Assistant Director DuWayne Dale.

The KWC Band will perform the works of Bach, Copland, Bernstein, Camphouse and Tchaikovsky. Kaitlin Callihan, clarinet soloist, will perform the Copland Clarinet Concerto. Pianist Diane Earle will be perform the works by Liszt and Rachmanioff.

“We are excited about returning to the RiverPark Center for this terrific concert for our entire community,” Pederson said. “There is something for everybody, and this hour-long concert is great entertainment for the whole family.”

Earle said the performance will feature a variety of musical samplings that will appeal to all audiences.

“It should be very exciting performance,” Earle said. “There’s something for everybody; classical piano, clarinet solos, even a few vocal solos in the band.”
