Kentucky Wesleyan College Hosts Student Film Festival

Owensboro, Ky. (April 26, 2015) – Kentucky Wesleyan College will host a student film festival on Tuesday, April 28, at 4 p.m. in Rogers Hall at the Winchester Center. Two classes at Wesleyan have collaborated this semester to write, direct and produce seven short films. Wesleyan senior Sydney O’Hearn created the student film festival as a way to showcase the work that the screenwriting and directing classes have done.

“Each of the writers had a very different story to tell, and each of the directors had a different vision for each story. We have some original and interesting films,” said Ms. O’Hearn.

The screenwriting class, taught by Professor Tamara Coy, spent the first half of the semester outlining, writing and revising their stories. Dr. Randall Vogt’s directing class then spent the second half of the semester filming and editing the screenplays.

Raffle tickets will be offered at the door, and at the end of the festival, one lucky winner will receive a $20 Bee Bop’s gift card.
