Kentucky Wesleyan College President’s Gala scheduled for April 22

Inaugural celebration to feature fun, food and live music

Owensboro, Ky. (March 31, 2016) – Kentucky Wesleyan College, along with President Bart Darrell, will host its first-ever President’s Gala on Friday evening, April 22, at the Owensboro Convention Center.  The celebration will allow Wesleyan to recognize members of the school’s President’s Circle – the annual giving society made up of donors who give $1,000 or more during the year – while also celebrating the accomplishments of students, alumni, and other benefactors over the last 12 months.   The school expects nearly 300 supporters to attend the black-tie optional affair, which is presented by Owensboro Health.

The event will begin with a 6 p.m. cocktail reception overlooking the river, followed by a plated dinner with wine pairings, remarks from President Darrell, and live entertainment throughout the evening by Nashville’s The Downtown Band, an award-winning, high-energy group that has performed for nationally-renowned acts including Elton John, U2, John Mayer, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood, as well as celebrities David Letterman, Nicole Kidman, Jay Leno and more.

“We have been thrilled with the response of our supporters through the President’s Circle initiative,” said Vice President for Advancement Tom Keith.  “The Gala will allow us to thank these individuals in a festive, energetic environment that engages the community.  This is a party you don’t want to miss!”

Tickets are $55 per person, $100 per couple, with tables of eight available for $400, and may be purchased at www.kwc.edu/gala or by calling 270-852-3142.  Each member of the President’s Circle received two complimentary tickets.
