Kentucky Wesleyan to host Black History Month Celebration with former NBA player

Owensboro, Ky. (Feb. 10, 2016) – Former Seattle Supersonics player Cory Blackwell of Los Angeles will speak at the College’s annual Black History Month Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. in Rogers Hall at the Winchester Center. He is the father of C. J. Blackwell, a Wesleyan senior and Panther basketball player. 

Cory Blackwell attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he played basketball and was a three-time All American. He also has a bachelor’s degree from the International School of Christian Ministry in Los Angeles. A motivational speaker and minister, he has conducted seminars and taught thousands as a life coach. The event is free and open to the public.
