Kentucky Wesleyan College, a liberal arts institution that prepares students intellectually, spiritually and physically to achieve success in life, seeks an outstanding leader as its 35th President. The College is located in Owensboro, Ky., the business and cultural hub of western Kentucky, which is situated on the banks of the Ohio River. Founded by the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1858, Kentucky Wesleyan is an environment where student success is the top priority. Students learn to think critically, communicate effectively and live ethically in a complex and rapidly changing world. Kentucky Wesleyan offers 29 majors and 13 preprofessional curriculums to 738 full-time, on-campus students with a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1. These programs are organized within four academic divisions: Fine Arts & Humanities, Natural Sciences & Mathematics, Professional Studies and Social Sciences. Students and faculty value Kentucky Wesleyan’s small community and intimate classroom settings for the personal attention given to student progress and cultivation of critical thinking skills.
Kentucky Wesleyan College was ranked No. 15 in the nation in the Baccalaureate Colleges category of the 2018 Washington Monthly College Rankings, based on their contribution to social mobility, research and promoting public service. College Consensus also recognized Wesleyan with the No. 2 ranking in the Best Colleges and Universities in Kentucky for 2018, while Princeton Review named the College “Best in the Southeast” for the 15th consecutive year. Kentucky Wesleyan is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate degrees and is approved by the University Senate of the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry as a United Methodist-related academic institution. The Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers compete in the NCAA Division II and are members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
