Q: How much are cap & gowns?
A: Cap & gowns were $60 for the Class of 2024. Orders opened 1/15/24 and closed 2/15/24. You’ll purchase online with a credit card. If you need other arrangements, please contact Summer Aldridge at summer.aldridge@kwc.edu.
Q: I didn’t buy a cap & gown… Is it too late to purchase?
A: Nope! When you see the emails about cap & gowns being available for pickup, just shoot Summer Aldridge an email to summer.aldridge@kwc.edu to purchase an extra. They are $70 and payable only by cash/check to KWC.
Q: I want to take senior pictures before caps & gowns will be in… Is that possible?
A: Yep! Just email Summer Aldridge at summer.aldridge@kwc.edu to borrow one of our samples.
Q: Can I decorate my cap?
A: Yep! Please be respectful.
Q: Can I borrow someone else’s cap & gown and just buy a 2024 tassel?
A: Yep! Just select the tassel only option when purchasing.
Q: When will caps & gowns be in?
A: They’ll be ready for pickup at the Martin Alumni Center April 25-26, 2024.
Q: What if I can’t pick up my cap & gown during that time?
A: Just communicate with us! We can arrange a different time. If you’re an online student, we can ship it to you or have it ready for you on Commencement morning.
Q: I’m an online student… How do I get my cap & gown?
A: You have two options – we can ship it to you when they arrive or you can ask us to have it available for pickup for you at Commencement weekend (wrinkle-free!). You’ll be able to show up to Commencement and slip it right on.
Q: I don’t want to pay for a commemorative hanger/gown steaming but I also don’t want my gown to be wrinkly. What should I do?
A: That’s okay! Once pickups are over, we’ll have office hours where you can come borrow our steamers in the Martin Alumni Center free of charge.
Q: Can I iron my gown?
A: NO! It will melt!!!
Q: What if I forget to steam my gown?
A: Then you’ll be one of very few students who didn’t follow directions and will look super wrinkly in ALL the professional photos. Don’t be that person.
