Student Leader Training

When asked what skills they are looking for in recent college graduates, businesses, graduate schools and community organizations all agree: students need leadership and communication skills.

Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Office of Student Services and the Student Government Association host Student Leader Training every August to develop leadership, communication, and event planning schools in those students who have made the commitment to serve their fellow Panthers. Student Leader Training includes Resident Assistants, Campus Ministries leadership, the Student Activities Programming Board, the Student Government Association, Admissions Ambassadors, Greek Life leadership, Bonner Scholars, Student Orientation Staff, Peer Tutors, Supplemental Instructors, and Student Organization Presidents. The week-long training includes common sessions that address topics such as event planning, campus policies, diversity and inclusion, ethics, and more. There are also opportunities for the individual organization to meet for training and social events planned so that the leaders can connect.

The 2018-2019 Student Leader Training will take place from Sunday, August 19 – Saturday, August 25.
