SUMMARY:Stanley Reed Society Legislative Roundup and Preview
DESCRIPTION:The Stanley Reed Political Science and Pre-Law Society will host a 2025 Legislative Roundup and 2026 Legislative Preview\, a discussion of recent and upcoming state legislation\, with State Representative DJ Johnson and State Senator Gary Boswell on Nov. 3\, 2025\, at 5 p.m. in Rogers Hall at the Winchester Center. \nTopics will include: \n\nState land sale reform to streamline the process for repurposing vacant state property;\nLimits on property tax increases;\nThe Landowner Protection Bill;\nA proposal to adjust the creel limit for fishing on private property;\nThe Library Board Appointment Process Bill;\nAn Election Integrity Bill aimed at strengthening public confidence in Kentucky’s voting system.\n\nBoth lawmakers emphasize that these reforms seek to make Kentucky’s government more efficient\, transparent and responsive to taxpayers. \nThe event is open to the public. \nStanley Forman Reed (1884-1980)\, a 1902 graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College\, was a noted attorney who served as United States Solicitor General from 1935-1938 and as an associate justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1938-1957. He was a native of Mason County\, Ky.

DESCRIPTION:The Office of Career Engagement is excited to host our Fall Career\, Internship & Graduate School Fair on Tuesday\, October 28!\nConnect face-to-face with employers\, recruiters\, and graduate school representatives offering real opportunities for internships\, full-time positions\, and advanced study. Bring your resume\, dress professionally\, and get ready to make valuable connections that move your career forward. \nEmployers are invited to meet with Kentucky Wesleyan students and publicize your job\, internship and graduate school opportunities! Booth registration is $100 for businesses\, and $50 for schools and nonprofits\, payable by credit card in advance. Additional registrants from your organization may be added for $20 each. We will provide a box lunch for all registered. \nPlease arrive for setup between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m. and we ask that you plan to stay for the duration of the event.
