Help when you need it

Mental health counseling is available to all students through the Counseling Services Office located in the Administration building room 213. The office is staffed by the Director of Counseling who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. At times a graduate student intern teams with this office as well. Services are provided for a number of issues including college adjustment, stress, problem habits/behaviors, anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, substance use/abuse, family/personal relationship concerns and other issues related to mental health. Individual, couples and group counseling are available. Educational and training groups are also offered throughout the year.

Fees for services are included in the Health and Wellness fees; there is no additional charge to the student. Appointments can be made by either coming into the Counseling Services Office or calling, 270-852-3183. In the event that this calls goes to voicemail, callers are encouraged to leave a message with contact information; the call will be returned promptly. All information is strictly confidential unless the student is a danger to themselves or others or signs a release of confidential information. In-person and Telehealth Services are available. Students experiencing personal, emotional, psychological, or academic problems are encouraged to seek assistance through Counseling Services.

Kentucky Wesleyan’s Counseling Services Office supports parents in understanding and assisting their student’s adjustment to college life. Parents are encouraged to listen, communicate openly, and promote professional help when needed. The office offers consultations to guide parents on how to support, encourage counseling, and respond appropriately to their student’s emotional well-being.
