A good opportunity for students to meet with representatives from many local community organizations to find good fit for their volunteer efforts. Also a great opportunity for faculty to speak with community organization leaders about potential projects or partnerships for service-learning courses, as service-learning is a major component of the QEP.

For the Greater Good… Builld-A-Bed Project is the first and largest community service event of its kind in the United States. It was started right here in Kentucky!
“By building beds and providing items to promote safe sleep and calming bedtime rituals, we hope to improve the bedtime routines and sleep quality of Kentucky children, bring communities together to tackle a shared challenge, recognize and capitalize on local communities’ and individuals’ strengths and expertise, and empower volunteers with new skills and confidence.”
CETL office coordinates the campus-wide effort to raise money for the United Way, which aids in funding a number of community organizations. Activities include staff and faculty pledges, student-lead fundraising activities, and fun and whimsical campus events.
