Home away from Home

Living in a community with other students is one of the many opportunities students have for enhancing their college experience. Kentucky Wesleyan‘s campus residence halls complement the overall educational program of the College. Experiences in cooperative group living, personal, social and academic growth, as well as other out-of-classroom educational opportunities, provide important contributions to students‘ liberal arts education.

Our Residence Life Staff strives to create opportunities for our students to live, learn, lead, and love while living in our halls.

Common Questions

We offer multiple scholarships, some ranging up to full tuition. Learn about scholarships in focused areas like academic program, athletics, Christian ministry, and more.

How do housing assignments work?

Returning students select their housing assignment in the spring semester for the next academic year. New student assignments are released beginning July 2nd before the fall semester.  Assignments are for the academic year.  Unless approved for a single room, all students are expected to have a roommate when possible.

Housing assignments and charges can be verified through the Student Portal using your Kentucky Wesleyan username and password. If you are having difficulty accessing the information, please reach out to our Director of Residence Life at hannah.vanderpohl@kwc.edu.

Each building has two types of rooming options: single rooms and double rooms.  Single rooms are reserved for upper-class students based on availability, credit hours, and GPA.  All double rooms have the capacity for 2 students.

Kentucky Wesleyan College is committed to equal opportunity and challenge for all academically qualified students and does not discriminate on the basis of disability.  To contact the Office of Accessibility, please reach out to Kim Johnson at kim.johnson@kwc.edu or (270) 852-3212.

Do I control my room temperature?

We want you to be comfortable. The weather in the Fall and Spring can make it challenging to determine when to switch our Residence Halls between Cooling and Heating. We encourage you to add an extra blanket or use a fan to help make yourself more comfortable during these times. If you feel your room temperature is extremely hot or cold please reach out to our staff.

Deacon, Peeples, and Stadium are either on heat- or cool-air systems. This prevents us from toggling between heating and cooling during a season. The heat cannot be instantly turned on and then turned off. In Massie and Kendall, students can switch over on their individual units.

We track the weather to make a determination about when the system needs to be switched. Similar to other surrounding colleges, we use a standard of 5 consecutive days with the low being below 50 to turn on the heat and for cooling, 5 consecutive days of the high being above 50. Day time temperatures are taken into consideration.

How do I find out who my roommate is?

To access your roommate assignment, log into your Student Portal using your Kentucky Wesleyan username and password. If you are having difficulty accessing the information, please reach out to the Director of Residence Life.

What is KWC’s housing requirement?

Students who live on campus have higher levels of engagement, satisfaction and grade point averages than those do not. We also know that for some students, living off campus helps make Kentucky Wesleyan education more affordable. That’s we we have a housing policy that provides many housing options for students both on and off campus.
