Brian A Murphy (b. 1972) is a regional artist born and raised in Western Kentucky. Inspired by his everyday surroundings and imagination he recalls his first ideas about art were from comic books, cartoons and watching his dad draw bicycles and sing country songs.
A child of popular culture, television and music, Prof. Murphy uses these ideas to express his art ideas. Inspired by many styles and periods of art including Pop Art, Dadaism, and Abstraction, as well as musical styles such as hard rock, hip hop and punk rock, he is both an art educator and advocate for making the arts available for all learners. Brian encourages everyone to find their voice through the creative arts.
