Career Paths

Animator – Animators design and create moving images for film, television, advertising, and digital platforms. They bring characters and environments to life using 2D and 3D techniques.

Motion Graphics Designer – These professionals specialize in animated graphics for branding, advertising, and media. Their work is seen in commercials, online content, and visual campaigns.

Game Artist – Game artists create characters, environments, and visual effects for video games. They blend storytelling with technical design to shape immersive player experiences.

Visual Effects Artist (VFX) – VFX artists integrate digital effects with live-action footage, producing realistic or fantastical visuals for movies, TV, and streaming media.

Animation Program Requirements

The Animation minor requires 21 credit hours of focused coursework. Students begin with foundational design and drawing courses before advancing to digital animation and motion graphics. Core classes include Drawing I, Two-Dimensional Design, Introduction to Digital Art, and specialized animation courses. Advanced projects allow students to explore 3D modeling, character design, and visual storytelling techniques, while also building a portfolio that demonstrates creativity and technical skill.
