Kentucky Wesleyan College to host renowned economist for presentation on tariffs

Kentucky Wesleyan College will host renowned economist Dr. David Hebert on Friday, Feb. 21, at 3 p.m. in Tapscott Chapel in the Barnard-Jones Administration Building. His presentation will be “Let’s Talk About Tariffs.” The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Dr. Hebert is senior researcher at the American Institute for Economic Research. He is a noted economist specializing in public finance, institutional economics and political economy. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University and has held academic positions at various institutions, including Aquinas College and Troy University. His research focuses on the intersection of government finance and economic incentives, with an emphasis on how institutional structures shape policy outcomes.

Hebert has authored several notable publications, including “A Theory of the Optimal Size of Government” and “Public Finance and the Political Process,” which examine the efficiency of government spending and decision making.
