The Kentucky Wesleyan College Music Department will present a showcase of music faculty, students and community members with music from “The Great American Songbook” on March 14 at 7 p.m. in Tapscott Chapel in the Barnard-Jones Administration Building.
Singers will perform timeless favorites for this collection of works which is the canon of significant 20th century jazz standards, popular songs and show tunes. Often referred to as “American standards,” the songs published during the Golden Age of this genre include popular and enduring tunes from the 1920s to the 1950s that were created for Broadway and Hollywood.
