Kentucky Wesleyan College has named Scott D. Sims ’03 as its new senior director of development and alumni relations. In the expanded role, Sims will cultivate relationships within the Wesleyan community to develop individualized donor engagement and solicitation strategies that align donor interests with institutional funding priorities while continuing to grow and sustain the college’s alumni engagement program.
“From day one, Scott has brought incredible energy, dedication, and a genuine passion for connecting with our alumni community,” said Leigha Taylor, vice president of advancement. “His leadership has strengthened engagement with the Alumni Association Board, elevated the quality and impact of our events, and made a lasting impression on alumni relations at KWC. Scott is more than ready for this next step in his advancement career, and we are fortunate to have him on our team. I am excited to see all he will accomplish as senior director of development and alumni relations.”
Prior to his appointment, Sims served as director of alumni engagement at Kentucky Wesleyan, where he directed the planning and execution of major institutional events, including Homecoming, the annual fundraising gala, and commencement-related alumni programming. He was recently selected for the Leadership Owensboro Class of 2026-27.
A native of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Sims is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan and holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing and communications.
“I’m honored and excited to step into this role,” Sims said. “Since returning to campus as director of alumni engagement, I’ve been reminded of just how special the KWC community is. Coming back is a full-circle moment for me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve my alma mater in this new role.”
