Kentucky Wesleyan College Vice President for Advancement Tom Keith announced that Eddie Kenny has been appointed as senior director of alumni relations.  Kenny assumed his responsibilities on August 4 after serving as director of alumni and parent relations at Saint Leo University in Tampa, Fla., since 2010.

In his most recent role, Kenny was responsible for engagement initiatives at Saint Leo, a private institution with 16,000 students and 80,000 alumni.  Kenny coordinated the Alumni Association Board of Directors and its committees as well as the Parent Advisory Council, aligning each with strategic priorities of the institution.  During his tenure, the office expanded the total number of engagement events and activities, achieving significant increases in total attendance for alumni-focused events, including the annual Alumni Weekend.

“We are thrilled to add Eddie to our advancement team,” said Keith.  “The combination of experience and high-energy efforts he brings to the table will help propel our Alumni Association to new heights.  Wesleyan supporters across the country will enjoy working with him.”

Prior to his six years in alumni relations,  Kenny spent nearly 10 years in athletic administration at the professional, collegiate and high school levels. He served as athletic director at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School in Tampa from 2008-10, and previously served Saint Leo in multiple capacities, including assistant athletic director of external operations, sports information director and adjunct professor of sport business.   He also spent one year as the media relations coordinator for the Miami Fusion F.C. of Major League Soccer.

Kenny earned a bachelor of science degree in communications from Florida International University in 2003, and completed a master of science in education/sport management at Nova Southeastern in 2005.  He and his wife, Wendy, have two children, Katie (8) and Joey (3) and are expecting their third child in October.
