Kentucky Wesleyan College Returns as a Friday After 5 Sponsor

Owensboro, Ky. (April 13, 2015) – Kentucky Wesleyan College has entered into a partnership with Friday After 5 to serve as the official sponsor for the August 28 lineup after a four-year hiatus from Owensboro’s nationally-acclaimed festival.    “We are excited for the opportunity to showcase Wesleyan,” said Vice President of Advancement Tom Keith. “It is important for us to be fully integrated within our vibrant community.  As we take our visibility to a new level in Owensboro and around the country, Friday After 5 is a great place to start.  We look forward to painting the town with Panther purple on August 28.”

Executive Director of Friday After 5 Kirk Kirkpatrick welcomed Wesleyan back and said, “Kentucky Wesleyan College is an important part of our community. We are proud to welcome them back and look forward to their involvement for years to come!”

Andrew Howard, this year’s Friday After 5 chair, remarked, “Kentucky Wesleyan is an outstanding addition, and we are pleased to welcome them back. We anticipate this season at Friday After 5 to be one of our biggest and best to date.”

Wesleyan Men’s Basketball Head Coach Happy Osborne added, “Our goal is to be one of Owensboro’s proudest assets. This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes to meet the community and for our city to learn more about The Wesleyan Way.”

“The Kentucky Wesleyan women’s basketball program is excited to be a part of Friday After 5,” said Co-Head Coach Caleb Neiman. “We are fortunate to be part of one of the greatest sports towns in the nation, and we can’t wait to be a part of the festivities.”

Wesleyan is planning numerous activities as part of the event, including on-stage performances by music students, interactive games for children, the opportunity to mingle with coaches, student-athletes and staff, and an appearance by mascot Wesley N. Panther.
