For the fourth consecutive year, Kentucky Wesleyan College will participate in Giving Tuesday on Nov. 27. The College has set a goal of raising $153,000 in 2018, which would push the four-year total past $600,000. The Wesleyan Way Day of Service, which has seen the Wesleyan community commit 909 hours of community service since 2015, is scheduled for Nov. 26.
The two-day event has become a Kentucky Wesleyan signature.
Anyone can visit kwc.edu/give on Nov. 27 to make a secure online gift. The Advancement Office (Room 105 or 109 in the Barnard-Jones Administration Building on Wesleyan’s campus) will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Giving Tuesday for those who wish to hand-deliver gifts. Contributions may also be made by phone by calling the Office of Advancement at (270) 852-3142.

Darrell. “The commitment of our students, faculty, staff and alumni to support service initiatives on our Wesleyan Way Day of Service is a reminder of our commitment to our communities near and far. We are then fortunate enough to witness the generosity of those who support our great institution through participation on Giving Tuesday, and are so incredibly thankful.”
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that encourages philanthropy and celebrates generosity worldwide. It is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities, with a focus on participation rather than how much a person is able to give. More than 40,000 organizations in 71 countries have participated in the Giving Tuesday initiative since its inception in 2012.
With the end of the calendar year approaching, gifts of appreciated stock and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from an IRA are also great ways to participate while also taking advantage of additional tax benefits.
