Kentucky Wesleyan to sponsor Owensboro Chamber’s November Rooster Booster

ESPN college basketball analyst Daymeon Fishback to speak

Kentucky Wesleyan College will serve as the title sponsor for November’s Rooster Booster event, the monthly business breakfast hosted by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, on Thursday November 3 at the Owensboro Convention Center.  This month’s featured speaker is ESPN College Basketball analyst and 1996 Kentucky Mr. Basketball Daymeon Fishback.

In addition to his work with ESPN, Fishback also enjoys a highly successful career as a Financial Advisor and Relationship Manager for Morgan Stanley’s Cahaba Group in Birmingham, Alabama.  The Bowling Green, KY native played at Greenwood High School where, as a junior in 1995, he led the Gators to the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history.  The following year, he was named both the Gatorade National Player of the Year and Kentucky’s “Mr. Basketball.”  Fishback has also been inducted in the Warren County Public Schools “Hall of Distinguished Alumni”.

After high school, Fishback earned a basketball scholarship to Auburn University, where he graduated in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.  As a junior, Fishback helped lead the Tigers to the 1999 SEC Championship and the program’s first-ever #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the Sweet Sixteen.  He was named team captain the following year as a senior, as Auburn advanced to the second round of the 2000 NCAA Tournament.   Fishback was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Academic Team, and finished his career as the fifth most prolific three-point shooter in Auburn basketball history.

With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry following a professional basketball career in Italy, Yugoslavia, France and the National Basketball Association, Fishback has also worked as a color analyst for Fox Sports South and the Auburn Network.  He joined the ESPN family of networks in 2014.
