Senior Gift

Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Class of 2024 announced plans for its Senior Class Gift in March. This year, the graduating seniors will be gifting a historic mural created by KWC alumnus and local artist K.O. Lewis ’08. The mural will be located on the first-floor lobby inside the Barnard-Jones Administration Building.

The soon-to-be alumni have been hard at work developing the mural concept and raising the funds needed since the fall semester. They are approximately $1,500 away from their goal and are looking to their community to help them cross the finish line. Those interested in supporting the project can make a financial gift to the project here.

“It’s been a great year working on this project,” shared KWC senior committee member Sophia Tsiralidis ’24. “We wanted our class gift to celebrate the rich history of Kentucky Wesleyan while also beautifying our campus. Having the artwork created by a Kentucky Wesleyan alumnus makes it even more special and I can’t wait to see it come to fruition!”

The students, along with help from 2023 Outstanding Alumnus of the Arts Lewis and the KWC Alumni Association, are working toward a completion date of May 3 – just one day before they’ll walk across the stage and become Kentucky Wesleyan College graduates at the College’s 156th Annual Commencement.

The mockup is the concept created by the Class of 2024. Details of the mural are still being finalized and the artist will use the mockup to create his own original piece in the coming weeks.

Past Senior Gifts

Class of 2023

The Class of 2023 gifted a beautiful archway to campus on May 4, 2023. Watch the video below to see the final product! Thanks to the many faculty, staff, alumni, friends and students who helped make this dream become a reality.

Class of 2022

The Kentucky Wesleyan Alumni Association and the Class of 2022 worked together identify, plan and fundraise for their Senior Gift. Right before Commencement, we were finally able to unveil the 8-foot-tall gift on campus!
The new wood carved statue of Wesley N. Panther was placed right in front of our Prospective Student Parking and can be seen all the way from Frederica! We’re so proud of our seniors for dreaming up a gift that will be used by our Panthers for years to come and working hard to make it happen! It has since been added to thanks to the sisters of Kappa Delta – who fundraised together to create the Kappa Delta Welcome Patio in the same space.

Class of 2002

We will forever remember the lives that were lost and impacted by the attacks on 9/11, including our own Thomas Hohlweck, Jr. ’67.
We continue to honor them by displaying a Flag of Honor, which was flown over the site of the terrorist attacks and then framed and placed in the Winchester Center. The flag contains the names of all those that perished in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, United flights 175 and 93 and American flights 11 and 77, including the heroic emergency services personnel who gave their lives to save others.
The Winchester Community Center also houses our commemorative display remembering the people and events that shaped the Class of 2002, given as a senior gift from the class. The Sept. 12 front page of the Messenger-Inquirer is prominently featured.
