Kentucky Wesleyan receives $156,647 on Giving Tuesday, exceeding goal

Boosts four-year total to $604,401

Kentucky Wesleyan College received $156,647 in charitable gifts during yesterday’s Giving Tuesday effort, which means investors have donated a total of $604,401 on Giving Tuesday since 2015. The fourth annual Wesleyan Way Day of Service on Monday resulted in 261 hours being dedicated to the community by Wesleyan students and employees. The Wesleyan community has committed 1,170 hours since the inception of the service day.

“We are so thankful for the continued support and generosity of our alumni, friends and community,” said Eddie Kenny, Wesleyan’s interim vice president of advancement. “For the last four years our investors have answered the call and helped us to exceed lofty goals on this single day of giving. Kentucky Wesleyan is certainly blessed to have such a supportive community.”

Yesterday’s total included gifts from donors in 12 states and alumni who made their first gift since graduating from Wesleyan.

“To once again achieve, and surpass, our dollar amount goal on Giving Tuesday is truly remarkable,” said President Barton D. Darrell. “We are incredibly grateful for the investors who believe in our mission and actively support it. Coupled with the commitment of students to service in our community, these two days are so impactful for Kentucky Wesleyan College and speak to the core of who we are, what we do and why we do it.”

In 2019, the Wesleyan Way Day of Service and Giving Tuesday will take place on Dec. 2-3.
