Contribution from Lydia Dorman ’82 to benefit General Scholarship Fund
Lydia Dorman, senior vice president of human resources for The Coca-Cola (Japan) Company in Tokyo, and a 1982 telecommunications graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, has contributed $30,000 to the school’s General Scholarship Fund, as announced by President Barton D. Darrell. She began her career with The Walt Disney Company and Toyota Motor Manufacturing before joining Coca-Cola in 1995. Over the last 21 years, she has held international posts in England, Ireland, Denmark and Canada before assuming her current role in 2010. The Coca-Cola Foundation’s Employee Matching Gifts Program increased the impact of Ms. Dorman’s investment.
“I feel privileged to give back to Kentucky Wesleyan College, an institution that has been gifting me for over 30 years,” says Ms. Dorman. The College gave me a solid foundation through a breadth of studies and experiences that only a liberal arts curriculum can provide. I am also privileged to work for a company which at the core of its operations and culture is committed to the continued growth of vibrant and sustainable local communities and educational institutions. I encourage my fellow alumni to see and utilize matching gifts programs with their employers that will enhance their donations to our College.”

Ms. Dorman was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and earned a master’s degree in corporate communication from Western Kentucky University, with an emphasis in training and development. In April of this year, she served as Wesleyan’s 2016 Commencement speaker.
