Record-setting December for Kentucky Wesleyan

2015 Year End Efforts generate 603 gifts totaling $268,287

2015 was a banner year for fundraising at Kentucky Wesleyan College in many ways, and the year ended with a bang.  Vice President for Advancement Tom Keith announced the school generated $268,287 in cash contributions for the month of December, which included a one-day total of over $113,000 on the first day of the month through Wesleyan’s inaugural participation in the worldwide Giving Tuesday effort.

“I’d like to thank our alumni and friends who so generously thought of us during the holiday season, as well as throughout 2015.  The spirit of giving is alive and well at Kentucky Wesleyan, but we’re just getting started,” said Keith.

Cash gifts to the college for the first seven months of the fiscal year, as of December 31, totaled $1.19 million, nearly double the $620,169 total as of 12/31/14.  The total number of gifts also increased by 260.  Another $3.28 million hit the books through various payouts from the estate gift of the late E. Luellen Pyles, which the school announced last April.

The President’s Circle initiative, which recognizes individuals and organizations who contribute $1,000 or more on an annual basis, has grown to 183 members since its launch in June, already exceeding the total number of donors at that level for the previous twelve months.  The College’s fiscal year ends May 31.

Keith added, “Our staff has worked extremely hard to thank our contributors, create easy ways to engage our alumni and friends, and celebrate our success stories.  We look forward to even greater successes as we move into 2016.”
