Secondary (High School) Education

Kentucky Wesleyan College offers a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree set forth in the content major for a specified department (biology, chemistry, English, mathematics or social studies).

As a secondary education student, you must complete college general education requirements, be admitted to the Teacher Education Program and complete professional knowledge coursework and a major in the field chosen for teacher certification 8-12.

You will earn certification for teaching grades 8-12 by taking Education classes in addition to classes in the area of emphasis, which means you will obtain a B.S. or B.A. in biology, chemistry, English, math or social studies with teacher certification.
